The Black Mountain Greenways Commission and Pisgah Brewing host the ninth annual Greenway Challenge 5K/10K race starting at 2 p.m. April 9 at the brewery, 150 Eastside Drive.
All proceeds will benefit The Black Mountain Greenway Commission, which is working to build more greenways around Black Mountain.
Entry fees are $30 for the 5K (3.1-mile) race and $35 for the 10K (6.2-mile) race. All runners receive a Pisgah pint glass at the finish and those 21 and older earn a Pisgah brew. Entry fees increase March 23. The 10K race is part of the Asheville Track Club’s Grand Prix Series.
Both the 5K and 10K start and finish at Pisgah Brewery. The course circles Lake Tomahawk with a scenic view of the Seven Sisters Mountain Range and winds through the North Fork valley. The course ends after circling through the picturesque campus of the Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center.
