Get ready for the ‘Run with the Lions’ 5k

The Black Mountain Lions Club is hosting its fourth annual charity “Run with the Lions” 5K run/walk on Oct. 24.

Runners will start at 8:30 a.m. from Black Mountain Town Square for a 1.5-mile out-and-back run along a paved and well-marked route that includes beautiful lakeside views.

The cost, $25, includes a T-shirt and medal (register early to ensure a T-shirt).

Proceeds from the race will go to the Black Mountain Lions Club for its work in the community.

Anyone who would like to be a volunteer or sponsor should call the club at 828-712- 9525. Sponsors will be named on the T-shirts, in all advertising and at awards ceremony.

Supporters are welcome too for a morning of fun, food and prizes.

Registration is open at active.com. Runners can also register at the packet pick-up at Lake Tomahawk Pavilion from 5-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, as well as on race day morning from 7:15- 8:15 a.m.
