Senior Night was a tough night for the Owen Warlassies soccer team, which lost in double overtime to conference foe Hendersonville High.

Owen fell 3-1 to the Bearcats on April 24 in what would be the final Western Highlands Conference home game of the season for the team. But the Warlassies will have a chance at redemption before the regular season ends.

Coming into their second match of the season against Hendersonville, the Warlassies were winners of three games in a row. The Bearcats delivered Owen its first conference loss of the season, 2-0, back in March.

Owen freshman Camryn Bolick fires a goal against conference opponent Mountain Heritage in a 6-0 win for the Warlassies in late March.

On Senior Night, each team managed to score a goal in the first half, but the defenses held one another scoreless through the second. Hendersonville poured in a pair of goals in the overtime periods while managing to keep the Warlassies off the board.

Two nights later, the Warlassies suffered their third conference defeat of the season on the road at Polk.

Owen bounced back against 3-A North Buncombe on April 28 with a 3-1 win. The win helped the Warlassies improve to 11-6 on the season, with three matches remaining. The team will travel to Mitchell High on May 2 (results not available as of press time) for its final conference match of the season against the Mountaineers. The Warlassies beat Mitchell 6-0 earlier this season.

The Warlassies went on the road to play Erwin May 3 before returning home to host Providence Academy, of Johnson City, Tennessee on May 5 in the regular season finale.
