A pair of Owen High School Warhorses will lace up their basketball shoes and return to the court for the 65th annual Blue-White All-Star game, which will take place following the girls all-district game at 6 p.m. at Enka on Saturday, March 18.

The game pits the best senior players against one another, allowing them to showcase their talents against a high level of competition. Owen seniors Mathew Brown and Brian Bartlett will be among the players on the court.

Owen High School seniors Brian Bartlett (2) and Mathew Brown (10) will represent the Warhorses in the Blue-White All-Star game at Enka on March 18.

Bartlett and Brown weren't the only basketball players from Owen programs recognized recently. The pair's junior teammate, Ben Craig, joined his fellow Warhorses as an All-Western Highlands Conference selection on March 7. Craig and Brown were also named to the N.C. Basketball Association's all-district second team on March 10.

The Warlassies were represented on the girls all-district team by sophomore Chesney Gardner, who earned a spot on the third team. Gardner was also an all-conference selection in the WHC, joined by her teammate, junior Kendal Marlowe.

Admission for the Blue-White All-Star game is $9 for adults and $8 for students. The girls game begins at 6 p.m. and is followed by the boys game. A dunk contest for the boys and a 3-point shooting contest for the girls will take place during halftime of the second game.
