Owen High weekly sports wrap-up

Here’s how Owen teams fared in sports action last week:

On Sept. 16, the varsity football team lost to McDowell High School.

On Sept. 17, the cross-country team competed at Freedom High School in Morganton. The girls team placed 12th, and the boys team placed 18th out of 31 teams.

On Sept. 19, the soccer team defeated Madison High School 7-0.

On Sept. 20, the tennis team lost to Hendersonville High School 5-4.

On Sept. 21, the soccer team lost to Hendersonville 4-1 and the volleyball team lost to Erwin.

On Sept. 22, the volleyball team lost to Avery High School, the junior varsity football team defeated Avery 24-13, and the tennis team defeated Mountain Heritage High School in Burnsville 8-1.
