The Owen football season kicks off on Friday, Aug. 19 at Warhorse Stadium, but not before the community has a chance to show its support.

The Stampede on State Street is coming to Town Square.

Warhorse quarterback Kendrick Weaver carries the ball in a scrimmage against Rosman on Aug. 10.

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, cheerleaders from the middle school and high school, as well as the Owen dance team and band, will join the football team for a pep rally.

A release from the school encourages those attending to wear maroon and white to support the team.

The Warhorses open the season against the Enka Jets, who defeated Owen last season in double overtime by a score of 48-47 for their only win of the season.
