Warhorses, Warlassies continue to win

Both varsity basketball teams for Owen High School will try to continue winning as they head into their first conference games of the season against Avery on Friday, Dec. 11.

The Warlassies won three games in a row after beating Chase High School on the road in November. They defeated East Henderson on the road on Dec. 2, 61-37. Owen hosts East Henderson on Wednesday, Dec. 9 before welcoming an Avery team that was 3-3 going into its Dec. 8 game against Watauga.

The Warhorses were 4-3 heading into Tuesday’s road game against West Henderson. They managed to score 81 points against the East Henderson Eagles, who they host Dec. 9. They will play the Avery Vikings on Friday night. Avery had not lost a game heading into its Dec. 8 game against Watauga.
