‘I Am A Gem’ golf tournament held
The second annual “I Am A Gem” golf tournament was held at the Black Mountain Golf Course on May 23.
Proceeds from the tournament will help fund a mission trip that uses baseball as a tool to minister.
The winners of the first flight were the team of Larry Tuttle, Jerry Ballard, Carl Bartlett and John Knight with a score of 54. The second flight winners were the team of Aaron Wright, Scott Martin, Justyn Whitson and Junior Conner with a score of 61.
The longest drive award on hole number 2 went to Cody Cheek, and the longest drive award on hole number 14 went to Scott Martin. The closest to the pin award on hole number 8 went to Darin Gouge, and the closest to the pin award on hole number 10 went to Darin Gouge.
Using a sand wedge, John Knight made a hole-in-one on hole number 13, which won him a trip to Las Vegas.
The foundation wants to thank Brent Miller and the pro shop staff for their help with the tournament and all the participants.
