Details on tickets, parking and COVID-19 precautions for President Trump's rally in Des Moines
President Donald Trump is holding a campaign rally Wednesday at the Des Moines International Airport. The rally will be on the south cargo apron of the at the Des Moines International Airport's tarmac, Des Moines Airport Spokeswoman Kayla Kovarna said.
Trump is resuming in-person campaigning after being hospitalized with COVID-19. He appeared on Monday in Sanford, Florida, and was scheduled for a rally Tuesday evening in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Victories Nov. 3 in those states and Iowa are considered crucial to Trump's reelection.
Here's what you need to know about the rally, how to attend and what you can and cannot bring:
Schedule and tickets
Doors will open at 3 p.m. Trump is scheduled to speak at 6. Free tickets are available online atdonaldjtrump.com/events. Those interested in going may request up to two tickets per cellphone number registered. All tickets are subject to first-come, first-served basis. To obtain tickets, rallygoers must agree to a liability waiver acknowledging the risk of catching the virus.
Tim Murtaugh, Trump's campaign manager, did not say how many people will attend or how many tickets will be issued, but Kovarna said local officials were told to prepare for up to 10,000 people.

Rallygoers will have their temperatures checked and will be given masks, with instructions to wear them, Murtaugh said in a statement.

Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek said he was told Trump will not be leaving the airport so there will be no need to close any roads. If the numbers on attendance estimates are accurate, traffic could be congested in the area leading up to and following the event, Parizek said.
Airport officials encourage rallygoers to use Southwest 28th Street when arriving.
Kovarna said they expect traffic in the area to be heavier than normal before and after the event, but they don't expect normal airport operations to be disrupted.
Attendees of the Trump campaign event will be instructed to use economy parking lots 1, 4 and 5; nearly 2,900 parking stalls are available in those lots, Kovarna said.
What not to bring
According to the Trump campaign, these items are prohibited:
• Alcoholic beverages
• Backpacks, bags, roller bags, suitcases bags exceeding size restrictions (12”x14”x5”)
• Banners, signs, placards
• Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
• Explosives of any kind (including fireworks)
• Glass, thermal and metal containers
• Laser lights and laser pointers
• E-Cigarrettes and Vaping Devices
• Mace and/or pepper spray
• Noisemakers, such as air horns, whistles, drums, bullhorns, etc.
• Poles, sticks and selfie sticks
• Spray containers
• Supports for signs/placards
• Appliances (i.e. Toasters)
• And any other items that may pose a threat to the security of the event as determined by and at the discretion of the security screeners.
How Trump is doing in Iowa
A Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll released Sept. 22 showed Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden locked in a tie in Iowa. Other state polls since then have shown Biden with a slight lead.
Trump won Iowa in 2016 with a nearly 10-point margin over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
