Nov. 29 Obituaries of the Swannanoa Valley
Lois Freeman Price, 88, of Black Mountain passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018 with her family by her side.
Mrs. Price was born May 22, 1930 in Madison County to the late Floyd and Gladys Cooper Freeman.
Lois was a member of Grove Stone Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, taking care of young children in her home. She was known to many of them as “Pricey” and she loved watching them grow in the community. Lois loved her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hillard Price and siblings, Nina, Gordon, Carmen, Helen, Wade, and Blanche.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Teresa Miller (Jimmy) of Old Fort; sons, James Price and Tommy Gregg (Allison) of Black Mountain; granddaughters, Hali Jones (Dillon) and Liliana Gregg; great granddaughter, Alivia Jones; and brother, Arvil Freeman.
A Celebration of Life Service was be held Nov. 20, in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals. Rev. Joel Burton officiated. Burial followed in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Vernon Weaver, Jr. 72, of Black Mountain passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018.
Mr. Weaver was born Dec. 19, 1945 in Buncombe County to the late Vernon and Clara Mooring Weaver.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Weaver retired from Tyson’s Furniture with over 40 years of service.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Weaver; daughter, Wendy Moore (Jeff); son, Stacey Weaver (Miranda); sister, Louise Allison; and grandchildren, Trent, Autumn, and Sara.
The family received friends on Nov. 20 at Harwood Home for Funerals.
