Bill N. Turner
Asheville
Bill N. Turner, age 88, of Asheville, formerly of Black Mountain, stepped into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 29, 2018.
Mr. Turner served in the Navy during World War II and The Korean War. He retired from ABF Trucking after 42 years of service. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church before his illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Logan and Bertha Watson Turner; three sisters and three brothers; and daughter, Susan Morris of Black Mountain.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sarah Judith Turner of Asheville; sons, Bill Turner, Jr. and wife Linda, and Steve Turner and wife, Clara; sister, Helen Jones, all of Black Mountain; stepchildren, Karen Blevins, Bruce Blevins, Glenda Conley and Mike Blevins; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, -nieces and -nephews.
The family received friends Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 12-1 p.m. in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals, with a Celebration of Life service immediately following. Burial was in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Chunns Cove Assisted Living and Hospice.

Ernie Lois Eubanks Lawton
Black Mountain
Ernie Lois Eubanks Lawton died on April 26, 2018. Mrs. Lawton was born on September 2, 1934 in Lucedale, Mississippi to Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Jefferson Eubanks. Lois Lawton was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rev. Frank W. Lawton; son, Wesley Maxwell Lawton; sister, Melva Eubanks Siddon; and brother, Zelton Eubanks.
She is survived by her children, Deaver Lamar Lawton (Patty), Sarah Diane Lawton Smith (Warren), and Alice Sandra Lawton Johnston (Terry); sister, Julia Cloy; brothers, Verk Eubanks (Anne), Ivan Eubanks (Sylvia), and Lemuel Eubanks (Nita); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lawton was a Certified Health Unit Coordinator with the National Association Health Unit Coordinators where she worked at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA from 1978 to 2010. She loved the Lord and taught her family Christian values. She enjoyed shopping and gardening. Her neighbors often stopped to admire her yard. She volunteered at Gayton Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lawton graduated from Rocky Creek High School, 1952 and attended Clark College, 1952-1953; Mississippi College, 1953-1954; and DeSoto Community College, 1969.
Lois Lawton held memberships in National Association Health Unit Coordinators, Inc. where she was President-elect 1990-1993, President, Chief Executive Officer 1993-1995, and received the Distinguished Service award in 1990. She was inducted in Who’s Who in America in 1996.
Mrs. Lawton will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
The family received friends Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 10-11 a.m. at Harwood Home for Funerals in Black Mountain, NC with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Mrs. Lawton was buried next to her husband at Ridgecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Ridgecrest, NC.
A memorial service was held at Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, TN on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3 p.m. The family received friends at 2:30 p.m. until the service time. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Ridgecrest Memorial Park Cemetery, ridgecrestconferencecenter.org or the American Heart Association.

Frank Alan Davison
Black Mountain
Frank Alan Davison passed away on May 1, 2018 at Highland Farms in Black Mountain, NC. He’d like his cause of death to be remembered as Chocolate overdose.
He was born October 27, 1926 in Passaic, New Jersey to the late Erwin H. Davison and Lilian Davison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Marion Stiles.
Frank was married to the former Faith Sneeden for 60 years. Frank and Faith made their home in Lenoir, NC for 37 years before they moved to Highland Farms.
Frank is survived by his loving wife and four daughters, Helen (Bart) Milleson, Carol (Freddy) Martin, Beth (Mary Beth McKee) Davison, and Laura (Todd) Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) McGugan, Ryan (Meigan) Milleson, Rachel Martin, Ben Martin, Josh Martin and Ian Smith; great-grandchildren, William McGugan and Samuel McGugan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank grew up in New York City and graduated from the Hill School (Prep school) in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He received a BA from Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia and Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond Virginia.
He served two Presbyterian churches in the Eastern part of NC. He later worked at Western Carolina Center in Morganton as Interim Chaplain and as a volunteer, receiving the Governor’s Award for Volunteer Service. This was presented to Frank by Governor Jim Hunt.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Frank was held Saturday, May 5th at 11 a.m. in the Assembly Room at Highland Farms in Black Mountain, NC. The family received friends immediately following the service.
Frank's body was donated to the Genesis Program (for medical science). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church World Services of Durham or Greensboro resettlement offices (https://cwsglobal.org).
