ABCCM passing out family meals this week around WNC

Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry is one site where ABCCM meals can be picked up from Dec. 19-20.

Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry is distributing its Christmas Angel Food meals, provided by Ingles Markets, this week. 

Families who have received vouchers for the meals may pick them up at Crisis Ministry locations at these times:

  • Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry, 101 N. Ridgeway Ave., Black Mountain; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 19-20; 100 bags to distribute.
  • Downtown Crisis Ministry, 24 Cumberland Ave., Asheville; 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Dec. 19-20; 600 bags to distribute.
  • Hominy Valley Crisis Ministry, 1914 Smoky Park Highway, Candler; 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Dec. 19-20; 100 bags to distribute.
  • South Crisis Ministry, 10 Buck Shoals Road, Arden, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Dec. 19-20; 100 bags to distribute.  
  • North Samaritan Crisis Ministry, 403 Weaverville Highway; 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Dec. 19-20. 100 bags to distribute.
  • ABCCM Christmas Angel Shop, 153 Smokey Park, the new Ingles Plaza, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. only Dec. 21; 100 bags to distribute.

Ingles Markets has donated both perishable and nonperishable foods for these meals, which feed a family of four.

According to ABCCM, families received a voucher from schools, ABCCM or SVCM and must present the voucher to receive the meal. 

ABCCM’s four Crisis Ministries and Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry are committed to serving homeless children and their families to help them bridge into stable jobs and homes.
