Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

April 21

Embezzlement was reported at a business on the 3000 block of Highway 70.

April 22

Possession of a weapon on school grounds was reported on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70.

April 23

Larceny was reported on the first block of Monk Court.

April 24

Using a weapon - illegal discharge was reported on the 100 block of Dogwood Lane.

Larceny was reported on the 1800 block of U.S. 70.

An animal bite was reported on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.

April 25

Damage to personal property was reported on the first block of Riverwood Road.

Burglary - non-forced entry and larceny were reported at a business on the 500 block of N.C. 9.

April 26

An animal bite, possible exposure to rabies and no proof of current rabies vaccination were reported on the first block of Smokey Mountain Drive.

April 27

Possession of a weapon on school grounds was reported on the first block of Lake Eden Road.

Arrests

April 16

Ryan Todd Gore, 41, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 100 block of North Ridgeway Avenue and charged with driving while impaired and misdemeanor child abuse.

April 17

Richard Douglas Pack, 62, of Black Mountain, was arrested at the intersection of Cherry Street and State Street and charged with driving while license revoked - not impaired.

April 18

Christopher Davy Burns, 36, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 100 block of North Blue Ridge Road and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked - not impaired and fictitious or altered title or registration card.

Lesley Suzanne Tobar, 35, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Old U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired and driving with a canceled revoked or suspended tag.

April 21

James Augustus Crowder, 19, of Tallahassee, Fla., was arrested at the intersection of Laurel Circle Drive and Azalea Avenue and charged with driving while impaired and driving after consuming alcohol or drugs.

April 23

Celia Jane Ramsey, 36, of Marion, was arrested on the entrance ramp to I-40 on N.C. 9 and charged with three counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

April 25

Fairest Cristina Grant, 26, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 600 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

April 26

Robert Nelson Carty, 22, of Wilmington, was arrested on the 100 block of Railroad Street and charged with resisting public officers.

Kevin Makay Webster, 19, of Asheville, was arrested on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with misdemeanor larceny and consumption of alcohol by someone age 19 or 20.

April 27

Peter Maupin, 60, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 1900 block of U.S. 70 and charged with simple assault.

April 28

Thomas Isaac Wright, 21, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 200 block of U.S. 70 and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of pretrial release violation.
