Rose Walker, a certified nursing assistant at Givens Highland Farms Healthcare Center, has been selected by Leading Age North Carolina to receive the Service Excellence Award. Walker has been a CNA at the center since March 2013. She is also a CNA preceptor, training new CNAs when they begin work at Givens Highland Farms.

Walker is completing her prerequisite courses for the associate’s degree in nursing program at A-B Tech. She will be honored with her award at the Leading Age Spring Conference in Myrtle Beach on May 12. Leading Age North Carolina is the state association of not-for-profit providers that provide care, housing, health, community and related services to the elderly.

Warren Wilson College’s newly redesigned magazine, Owl & Spade, won a platinum (writing in publication overall) and two gold (design in publication overall and magazine in publications) Hermes Creative Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals recently.
