Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these incidents and arrests.
Incidents
March 30
Exploitation of an elder was reported on the first block of Belle Grove Road.
Burglary, larceny from buildings and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported on the first block of Whitman Lane.
March 31
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 200 block of Laurel Street.
Simple non-physical assault was reported on the 200 block of Padgettown Road.
Larceny from a motor vehicle and credit card/ATM fraud was reported on the first block of Fairway Drive.
April 2
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the first block of Meeks Road.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the first block of Outlook Circle.
Possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest were reported on the intersection of U.S. 70 and Blue Ridge Road.
April 3
Two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, speeding, carrying a concealed gun, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia were reported at a business on the 300 block of West State Street.
April 4
An animal bite was reported on the 1200 block of Old U.S. 70.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 400 block of Rowland Road.
April 5
Larceny was reported at a business on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Credit card/ATM fraud was reported on the 100 block of Cragmont Road.
April 6
Disorderly conduct was reported on the first block of Lake Eden Road.
A misdemeanor drug offense was reported on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70.
Arrests
March 28
Theodore Ira Paul Buckner, 45, of Black Mountain, was arrested on U.S. 70 and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
March 31
James Michael Cairaway, 35, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the first block of Sigma Lane and charged with misdemeanor child abuse.
April 1
Daniel Patton Johnson, 26, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with assault by strangulation and assault on a female.
Baron David Todd, 38, of Asheville, was arrested at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Blue Ridge Road and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting public officers.
April 3
Margaret Ann Huggins, 47, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 100 block of Bee Tree Road and charged with two counts of forgery of instrument and uttering forged endorsement.
