Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these incidents and arrests.

Incidents

March 24

Possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer were reported on the first block of Railroad Street.

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the first block of Tanglewood Drive.

March 25

Breaking or entering - with force was reported on the first block of Candlelight Drive. A generator valued at $400 was reported stolen.

March 26

Misdemeanor breaking or entering was reported on the first block of Tambridge Road.

Burglary was reported on the first block of Woodlands Drive.

Larceny was reported at a business on the 100 block of Eastside Drive.

March 28

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to burn headlamps were reported at a business on the 3000 block of U.S. 70.

Armed robbery with a firearm and breaking or entering with force were reported on the first block of Mikey Drive.

March 29

Assault by strangulation and assault on a female were reported on the first block of Old Toll Road.

Assault on a female was reported on the 500 block of North Fork Road.

March 30

Burglary - non-forced entry, larceny from buildings and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported on the first block of Whitman Lane.

Arrests

March 19

Ruth Julialynn Veach, 46, of Asheville, was arrested on the 100 block of Flat Creek Road and charged with driving while impaired.

March 20

William Dale Carmichael, Jr., 58, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

March 23

Glen Wesley Davis, 46, of Old Fort, was arrested U.S. 70 and charged with assault on a female.

March 26

Carol Ann McLane, 60, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the first block of Border Street and charged with simple assault.

March 28

John Thomas Owens, 44, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 2200 block of U.S. 70 and charged with assault on a female.

John Wesley Collins, 26, of Arden, was arrested near the first block of Walters Road and charged with misdemeanor breaking or entering and two counts of felony breaking or entering.

Brendon Terrell Bowie, 26, of Asheville, was arrested near the first block of Walters Road and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

James Jerome Davis, 25, of Asheville, was arrested near the first block of Walters Road and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

March 29

Jason Paul Hardwick, 43, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with three counts of obtaining property under false pretense.

Shawn Maccrea Wilson, 38, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 500 block of North Fork Road and charged with assault on a female.

Cody Phillip Morris, 25, of Asheville, was arrested on the first block of Frances Avenue and charged with giving a malt beverage to a person under the age of 21 and two counts of misdemeanor probation violation.

March 30

Stephanie Nicole Duke, 29, of Asheville, was arrested on the first block of Frances Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
