The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Feb. 25

A misdemeanor drug offense was reported on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70.

A death investigation was initiated on the 200 block of Brim Lane.

Feb. 26

Possible rabies exposure was reported on the first block of Last Resort Road.

Feb. 28

Larceny from a motor vehicle and damage to personal property were reported on the first block of Red Raven Road. A window sustained $500 in damages and miscellaneous items valued at $2 were reported stolen.

Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping controlled substances were reported on the 500 block of Montreat Road.

Fraud and trespassing were reported at a business on the 3000 block of U.S. 70.

Feb. 29

Fraud was reported on the first block Edith Lane.

March. 2

Counterfeiting was reported at a business on the 500 block of N.C. 9.

March 3

Possible rabies exposure was reported on the 600 block of Christian Creek Road.

Arrests

Feb. 20

A 16-year-old Black Mountain boy was arrested on the 400 block of Hiawassee Avenue and charged with Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana and felony possession of marijuana.

Feb. 25

Brittany Nicole Nelon, 26, of Black Mountain, was arrested at a business on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with second-degree trespassing and resisting public officers.

March 1

Vincent Odell Lee, 51, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 200 block of Lake Eden Road and charged with possession of an open container of malt beverage or unfortified wine on city or county property.

March 2

Carlyn Appleton Flake, 31, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 500 block of Montreat Road and charged with possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance and possession of Schedule VI controlled substance.

Amy Roland Kaylor, 34, of Old Fort, was arrested at a business on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East and charged with writing a worthless check.

March 3

David Lee Elkins, 40, of Asheville, was arrested on U.S. 70 and charged with assault on a female, violation of a domestic violence protective order and misdemeanor larceny were reported on U.S. 70.

March 4

Joey Lee Hudson, 40, of Marion, was arrested on the 600 block of State Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
