Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
An animal bite was reported on the 100 block of Bee Tree Road.
Larceny of a tag was reported on the first block of Riverwood Road.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the first block of Big Al Court. A purse valued at $70, a wallet valued at $10, cash totaling $2 and miscellaneous items valued at $2 were reported stolen.
Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on the 300 block of Patton Hill Road. A minivan valued at $4,000 was reported stolen.
Fraud was reported on the first block of Hillcrest Road.
Possession of a weapon on school grounds was reported at Community High School on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70. A box cutter was recovered.
Larceny was reported on the first block of Sylvester Way. A tablet valued at $100 was reported stolen.
An animal bite was reported on the 100 block of Walnut Cove Road.
Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of Schedule VI paraphernalia were reported on the 400 block of Hiawassee Avenue.
Criminal damage to property (vandalism) was reported at a business on the 100 block of Cherry Street. A waste container sustained $25 in damage.
Haley Lynn Peek, 25, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 100 block of Harrison Street and charged with misdemeanor stalking.
Demian Peter Gatins, 46, of Black Mountain, was arrested on N.C. 9 at I-40 and charged with rear lamps violation, expired registration, driving while impaired and speeding.
