Seed Money Award applications are due soon
Seed Money Award applications are due March 7. If you have ideas on how to enhance Black Mountain and need funding, the Black Mountain Beautification Committee wants to help with an award.
The 2016 award will be given to an applicant (or applicants) who submits a project that best exemplifies the committee’s mission - honoring the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains while seeking to reflect that beauty on the streets and in the lives of the citizens.
The work proposal must be a gardening-related project in Black Mountain that adds a little something extra to the town.
“Gardening-related” can have a broad view. It can be planting and weeding, but it can also be teaching children about growing vegetables or leading a group to pick up litter along U.S. 70. The committee encourages applicants to use their imagination. Funding for this project comes from proceeds raised at the Black Mountain Garden Show and Sale and will not exceed $600.
To receive an application, visit the committee website at blackmountainbeautification.org, on Facebook or email at blackmountainbeautification@ gmail.com.
