Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Feb. 5

Larceny and forgery uttering were reported on the first block of Kappa Loop Road. A TV valued at $500, a heater valued at $500, heating oil valued at $280, watches valued at $250 and computer equipment valued at $200 were reported stolen.

Breaking and entering was reported on the 1200 block of Montreat Road. Sound equipment valued at $800 were reported stolen and windows sustained $50 in damage.

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were reported on the 100 block of East College Street.

Fraud was reported on the 100 block of Pine Hill drive.

A drug offense was reported on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70.

An animal bite was reported on the 400 block of Dennis Street.

Feb. 6

Breaking or entering was reported on the first block of Spankey Road. Cash and other miscellaneous items were reported stolen.

Feb. 7

An animal bite was reported on the 200 block of Central Avenue.

Breaking and entering was reported on Crestview Drive. A door sustained $100 in damage.

Burglary, trespassing and criminal damage to property (vandalism) were reported on the 400 block of Padgettown Road.

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 300 block of Melody Circle. Audio equipment valued at $700 was reported stolen.

Feb. 8

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on the corner of First Street and Montreat Road.

Fraud was reported on the 300 block of Fountain Way.

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the first block of Byrd Road. A purse valued at $100 and other miscellaneous items were reported stolen.

Feb. 9

An animal bite was reported on the first block of Cavalier Lane.

Assault with a deadly weapon was reported on the first block of Old Stage Coach Road.

Feb. 10

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 300 block of Buckeye Cove Road. Cash totaling $170, sunglasses valued at $200, a woman’s wallet valued at $50 and other miscellaneous items were reported stolen.

Arrests

Jan. 31

Amye Marie Cox, 32, of Burnsville, was arrested on the 100 block of Flat Creek Road and charged with communicating threats and assault by pointing a gun.

Feb. 2

Christopher Jamar Drayton, 27, of Black Mountain, was arrested on East Cotton Avenue and charged with driving without an operator’s license and driving with expired registration card/tag.

Feb. 5

Elizabeth Mae Mann, 45, of Candler, was arrested at a business on the U.S. 70 and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christopher James Shelton, 35, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the first block of Good Loop and charged with possession of dangerous drugs.

Feb. 6

Monica Denise Kilpatrick, 49, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 1200 block of Bee Tree Road and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Feb. 9

Alisha Daniela Bernat, 30, of Candler, was arrested on the first block of Old Stage Coach Road and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon on a government official.
