Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Jan. 21

Fraud was reported on the first block of Wagon Trail Lane.

Larceny was reported at business on the 3000 block of of U.S. 70.

Jan. 22

An animal bite was reported on the 700 block of Ninth Street.

Larceny was reported on the first block of Kappa Loop. A tablet valued at $280 was reported stolen.

Jan. 23

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Aycock Street. Miscellaneous tools valued at $900 were reported stolen.

Criminal damage to property was reported on North Cherokee Avenue.

Jan. 24

Burglary was reported on the first block of Harrison Hill Road.

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance greater than .5 ounces but less than 1.5 ounces was reported at a business on the 500 block of N.C. 9.

Jan. 26

Breaking and entering was reported on the 500 block of North Fork Road. A television valued at $300 was reported stolen.

Driving while intoxicated was reported on the 200 block of Cragmont Road.

An animal bite was reported on the 2500 block of Riceville Road.

Jan. 28

Trafficking opiates, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked plate and driving with no insurance were reported at a business on the 207 block of N.C. 9.

Arrests

Jan. 21

Richard Kevin Anderson, 29, of Asheville, was arrested at a business on the 300 block of Black Mountain Avenue and charged with assault on a female, assault and batter, assault by strangulation and injury to personal property.

Jan. 24

Myron Lee Fields, 53, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the first block of Patton Cemetery Road and charged with second-degree trespassing.

Jan. 26

Phillip Nathan Carter, 35, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the first block of Good Loop Lane and charged with giving a false fire alarm.

Cody Jackson Dodd, 27, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the first block of Wards Lake Road and charged with three counts of felony breaking and entering.

Jan. 27

Cody Phillip Morris, 24, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the first block of Willowbrook Road and charged with misdemeanor probation violation and giving a malt beverage to a person under 21.

Stephanie Nicole Duke, 29, of Asheville, was arrested on the 2700 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
