Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Jan. 7

An animal bite was reported on the 100 block of View Avenue.

Jan. 10

An animal bite was reported on the 300 block of Flat Creek Road.

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 700 block of Warren Wilson Road. Vehicle parts valued at $500, computer hardware valued at $600 and a laptop valued at $500 were reported stolen.

Possession of Schedule II controlled substance, driving without insurance and driving with license revoked were reported on Black Mountain Avenue.

Jan. 11

Breaking or entering and larceny from a building were reported on the 2000 block of U.S. 70. Telephone equipment valued at $600, jewelry valued at $175, office equipment valued at $167 and cash totaling $10 were reported stolen.

Jan. 12

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Hosta Ridge Way. Tools valued at $800 and miscellaneous items valued at $3 were reported stolen.

Fraud was reported on the 400 block of South Oconeechee Avenue.

Misdemeanor larceny was reported at a business on the 200 block of N.C. 9. Raw meat valued at $25 was reported stolen.

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported at a business on the 200 block of N.C. 9. A purse valued at $60, a wallet valued at $10 and various miscellaneous items valued at $5 were reported stolen.

Jan. 13

Breaking or entering with force was reported on the 3100 block of North Fork Left Fork Road. A cast iron dutch oven valued at $130 was reported stolen.

Arrests

Jan 12

Jackie Douglas Lewis, 27, of Old Fort, was arrested on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with assault by strangulation.
