Red House Gallery adds another artist

From staff reports

Gretchen Chadwick will soon join the studio artists at the Red House Gallery.

The sensual qualities and processes of nature are the inspiration of Chadwick's work. Her oil paintings are characterized by flowing, organic form and pure, vibrant colors. The paintings range from the highly representational to the completely abstract, often using flowers, plants or leaves as subject matter.

Chadwick’s oil and cold wax abstract paintings reflect a fascination with layers, texture and unusual color combinations.

Chadwick received her formal art training at the Brandywine Atelier in Kennet Square, Pennsylvania where she studied classical realism with renowned painter Neilson Carlin. In 2013, she received a master’s degree in transpersonal psychology, with a specialization in creativity and innovation, from Sofia University.

In addition to being a studio artist at the Red House Gallery, beginning in October, Chadwick will be a resident artist at 310 Art Gallery in the River Arts District. You can see more of her work on her Facebook page (Gretchen Chadwick, Artist).

While you’re at the Red House Gallery, take a stroll through the gallery studios of other artists. Most studios are open to visitors, even when the artists aren’t there.
