Incidents and arrests in the Swannanoa Valley

Black Mountain Police Department and Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department reported these incidents from June 25-July 1 and arrests from June 27-July 2:

Incidents

June 25

Misdemeanor breaking or entering was reported on the 1900 block of N.C. 9. A DeWalt drill valued at $200 was reported stolen.

June 26

Common law robbery was reported on the corner of Connally Street and Church Street. Gift cards valued at $40 and cash totaling $43 were reported stolen.

Possession of a firearm by a felon was reported on the 100 block of Ivanhoe Drive.

June 28

Misdemeanor breaking or entering was reported on the 300 block of Lynch Cove Road.

June 29

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on the 800 block of Warren Wilson Road. A purse was reported stolen.

June 30

A domestic argument was reported on the 100 block of Kent Street.

Domestic violence was reported on the 1000 block of Montreat Road.

July 1

Larceny was reported at a business on the 2800 block of U.S. 70. Tools valued at a total of $3,852 were reported stolen.

An animal bite was reported on the first block of Goldmont Street.

Arrests

June 27

Jason Blake Penley, 40, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 100 block of Ivanhoe Drive and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

June 28

Jesus Campos, 20, of Statesville, was arrested on the corner of Grovestone Road and U.S. 70 and charged with resisting public officers.

June 29

Tammy Elizabeth Black, 38, of Swannanoa, was arrested on the 100 block of Barker Avenue and charged with possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Jared Gerald Metcalf, 24, of Asheville, was arrested on the 400 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with second-degree trespassing.

July 1

Dustin Eric Stafford, 31, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 1000 block of Montreat Road and charged with assault on a female.

July 3

Andre Lamont Wilson, Jr., 31, of Black Mountain, was arrested on the 100 block of Seventh Street and charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny and breaking or entering - motor vehicle.
