Valley Rewind: What are the origins of this mysterious Christmas photo?

Special to Black Mountain News
This undated Edward L. Dupuy photograph from the Swannanoa Valley Museum's collections shows people gathered around a Christmas tree, but not where it was taken.

This undated Edward L. Dupuy photograph from the Swannanoa Valley Museum and History Center’s collections shows people gathered around a Christmas tree. But where was this photo taken? When the museum received this photograph it was labeled as “Blue Ridge Assembly Buildings” but the furniture does not match what was used at the assembly during the period, and the building design does not match that of the Blue Ridge Center (the most likely location because of its rock face design). Let the museum know your ideas at svmvolunteer@gmail.com. DuPuy was born in Blacksburg, Virginia, in 1914 and moved to Black Mountain as a teenager. He took photographs of the Black Mountain area from the 1950s through the 1980s.
