Black Mountain Town Council calls special meeting to discuss infrastructure projects
The Black Mountain Town Council announced on Nov. 29 a special call meeting set for Dec. 2 to discuss federal infrastructure projects.
"In general, this is how transportation projects get funded," said Josh Harrold, the Black Mountain town manager.
Harrold said the Dec. 2 meeting will be the first of three meetings held by the town to look at infrastructure projects. This first meeting will consist of discussion between the council and members of the French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization to look at the specifics of the state project improvement plan.
According to Harrold, this is a way for the town to begin road improvement projects. The next two meetings "will be geared toward what capital projects we have on the books and how do we finance those," Harrold said.
The town manager said it is unlikely that the council will take any action in this first meeting. The next two meetings have yet to be scheduled.
