Valley Rewind: Ice skating

This photograph from the Swannanoa Valley Museum and History Center's Vella Hendrix Landis Collection depicts three women with their ice skates - perhaps going to or coming from an adventure on the ice. The skates the women carry are of the strap-on variety, dating the photograph to the 1910s or 1920s. Skates consisting of boots with screwed-in blades became predominant in later decades.
