Jerry Hood holds up his ball after achieving a hole-in-one on the third hole at Black Mountain Golf Course.

BLACK MOUNTAIN - Jerry Hood was recently playing golf with is dad, Duane Hood of Montreat, at the Black Mountain Golf Course. Jerry aced the 240-yard, par-3 third hole using a driver from the blue tees.

Jerry, who lives in Phoenix, finished with a 72, and Duane bettered his own age by 2 strokes with an 83.

The next day the twosome played again, and they were the first group off in the morning.

Duane is so well known and loved by all the BMGC staff that they set up a little surprise for the Hoods: traffic cones around the pin on the same third hole that Jerry achieved a hole-in-one the day prior!

Black Mountain Golf Course employees made it a little more difficult for Jerry Hood to ace No. 3 a day after his hole-in-one on the same hole.
