The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Possession of a stolen vehicle was reported Oct. 24 on the 400 block of Wilson Avenue. 

An expired registration plate; resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer and fleeing or eluding with a motor vehicle were reported Oct. 24 at the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and N.C. 9. 

Driving under the influence and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer were reported Oct. 25 on the 3000 block of U.S. 70. 

Simple assault was reported Oct. 25 on the 400 block of East State Street. 

Public drunkenness was reported Oct. 26 on the 100 block of West State Street. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction and weapon law violations were reported Oct. 27 on the 3000 block of U.S. 70. 

Shoplifting was reported Oct. 27 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Destruction of property was reported Oct. 27 on the 100 block of Sutton Avenue. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction was reported Oct. 27 on the 400 block of West State Street. 

Driving under the influence and driving with an open container were reported Oct. 27 on the 100 block of Church Street. 

Larceny was reported Oct. 27 on the 100 block of Huntington Drive. 

Larceny was reported Oct. 28 on the 400 block of South Cherokee Avenue. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction was reported Oct. 28 on the first block of Alpine Shadow Lane. 

Felony breaking or entering was reported Oct. 28 on the 2100 block of U.S. 70. 

Driving while impaired was reported Oct. 28 on the I-40 eastbound at mile marker 62. 

Motor vehicle theft was reported Oct. 30 on I-40 westbound at exit 64. 

Communicating a threat was reported Oct. 30 on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70. 

Arrests 

Kiauna Nicole Hines, 33, of Asheville, was arrested Oct. 21, on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule I controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and carrying a concealed gun. 

William Dewayne Meadows, 28, of Asheville, was arrested Oct. 21, on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule I controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance; possession of a firearm by a felon; resisting a public officer; second degree trespassing; possession of marijuana paraphernalia and interfering with an electronic monitoring device. 

Sheron Nicole Nelon, 37, of Black Mountain, was arrested Oct. 21, on N.C. 9 and charged with resisting a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Calvin Lee Denny, 30, of Swannanoa, was arrested Oct. 24, on the first block of Good Loop and charged with three counts of second degree kidnapping. 

Gary Wayne Knapp, 50, of Black Mountain, was arrested Oct. 25, on the 3000 block of U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired and resisting a public officer.

Marty Eric Pringle, 43, of Swannanoa, was arrested Oct. 26, on the 200 block of Westwood Avenue and charged with assault by strangulation. 

Ryan Robert Semaru, 34, of Black Mountain, was arrested Oct. 26, on the 100 block of West Street and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive. 

Calvin Serpico Vincent, 43, of Valdese, was arrested Oct. 28 on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 62 and charged with driving while impaired and driving with an open container after consuming alcohol. 

James Nelson Zimmer, 23, of Swannanoa, was arrested Oct. 28, on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with felony larceny and possession of stolen goods. 

Dilyn Eugene Fain, 19, of Asheville, was arrested Oct. 28, on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with felony larceny, possession of stolen goods and possession of drug paraphernalia.
