Oct. 10 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Obtaining property under false pretense was reported on Sept. 26 on the 800 block of Blue Ridge Road.
Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction was reported on Sept. 26 on the 3000 block of Old U.S. 70 East.
Simple assault was reported on Sept. 27 on the first block of Woodsey Lane.
Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction was reported on Sept. 27 on the 100 block of Fifth Street.
Assault was reported on Sept. 28 on the 3100 block of U.S. 70.
An animal bite was reported on Sept. 28 on the 100 block of Greene Drive.
Credit card fraud was reported on Sept. 29 on the first block of Blue Ridge Assembly Drive.
Disorderly conduct was reported on Sept. 30 on the 800 block of Montreat Road.
Larceny was reported on Sept. 30 on the 500 block of Lakey Gap Road.
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of amphetamine, drug equipment violations and warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on Sept. 30 at the intersection of Tabernacle Road and Old U.S. 70.
Assault on a female was reported on Sept. 30 on the first block of Vance Avenue.
Felony breaking or entering was reported on Sept. 30 on the 100 block of New Salem Road.
An animal bite was reported on Sept. 30 on the 100 block of Etain Lane.
Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on Oct. 1 on Blue Ridge Road.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Oct. 1 on the 100 block of Kema Road.
An animal bite was reported on Oct. 1 on the 100 block of Warren Wilson Road.
Possession of marijuana was reported on Oct. 2 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 64.
A traffic offense was reported on Oct. 3 on the 2600 block of U.S. 70.
Arrests
Brandon Keith Morris, 24, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Sept. 21 on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a gun with an altered serial number and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Benjamin Scott Noland, 33, of Asheville, was arrested on Sept. 24 on the 300 block of State Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.
Burkett Dillion Ray Phillips, 27, of Siler City, was arrested on Sept. 26 on the first block of Knox Road and charged with three counts of a felony pretrial release violations.
Adam Christopher Bewernitz, 40, of Weaverville, was arrested on Sept. 26 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with first degree trespassing, assault on a government official and resisting a public officer.
Durrell Demetris Thompson, 36, of Asheville, was arrested on Sept. 27 on I-40 eastbound at exit 66 and charged with second degree trespassing.
Devon Ryan Duncan, 24, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Sept. 28 on the first block of Burgins Chapel Road and charged with breaking or entering a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny.
Emaniel William Mitchell, 38, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Oct. 1 on the first block of Woodsey Lane and charged with assault inflicting serious injury.
