Oct. 3 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
An animal bite was reported on Sept. 20 on the 100 block of Rock Knob.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Sept. 20 on the 100 block of Yow Drive.
Drug violations, drug equipment violations, vandalism and weapons law violations were reported on Sept. 21 on the 600 block of West State Street.
Damage to personal property was reported on Sept. 21 at the intersection of Montreat Road and Fifth Street.
Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was reported on Sept. 21 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70.
An animal bite was reported on Sept. 21 on the 100 block of Chestnut Drive.
Shoplifting was reported on Sept. 22 on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70.
Felony breaking or entering—with force was reported on Sept. 22 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was reported on Sept. 23 on the first block of Sigma Lane.
Credit card fraud, larceny and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle were reported on Sept. 23 on the first block of Sigma Lane.
Carrying a concealed weapon, drug equipment violations and warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on Sept. 24 on the 300 block of West State Street.
Two counts of vandalism were reported on Sept. 24 on the 300 block of Genesis Circle.
Arrests
Shaen Lawton Thompson, 47, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 16 on U.S. 70 and charged with assault on a female.
Floyd Daryl Tyree II, 40, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 16 at the intersection of Fifth Street and Montreat Road and charged with driving while impaired.
Joshua Lynn Peek, 30, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Sept. 19 on the 100 block of Rowland Drive and charged with breaking or entering.
Dakota Edward Kudlacik, 22, of Old Fort, was arrested on Sept. 24 on I-40 westbound at exit 63 and charged with assault on a female and pretrial release violation.
