Sept. 19 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

An animal bite was reported on Sept. 5 on the 2900 block of U.S. 70. 

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, two counts of possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and drug equipment violations were reported on Sept. 5 on the 100 block of East State Street. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on Sept. 5 on the 100 block of Old State Road 10. 

Resisting an officer and public drunkenness were reported on Sept. 5 on the first block of Goldmont Street. 

Felony breaking or entering — with force was reported on Sept. 5 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70. 

Armed robbery was reported on Sept. 6 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70. 

Simple assault was reported on Sept. 7 on the first block of Forest Lane. 

Burglary was reported on Sept. 8 on the 400 block of West State Street. 

Felony breaking or entering—no force was reported on Sept. 8 on the 400 block of West State Street. 

Communicating threats was reported on Sept. 8 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Simple assault was reported on Sept. 9 on the 100 block of Rockdale Avenue.

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction was reported on Sept. 10 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Vandalism was reported on Sept. 10 on the 600 block of West State Street. 

Larceny was reported on Sept. 10 on the 700 block of Warren Wilson Road. 

Shoplifting was reported on Sept. 11 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70. 

Arrests

Mark Andrew Buckner, 29, of Asheville, was arrested on Sept. 1 on the 2800 block of U.S. 70 and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive. 

Stephen William Harpula, 32, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 2 on the 400 block of Cragmont Road and charged with driving while impaired, driving with an open container after consuming alcohol and failure to heed light or siren. 

Joshua Micah James, 37, of Asheville, was arrested on Sept. 3 on I-40 at mile marker 58 and charged with driving while impaired and failure to burn taillight. 

Christian Alexander White, 21, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 4 on the 100 block of Cragmont Road and charged with possession of marijuana up to half an ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. 

Jason Keith Yoder, 45, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 5 on the 100 block of East State Street and charged with possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to half an ounce, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. 

Travis Warren Glenn, 33, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Sept. 6 on the first block of Good Loop and charged with obtaining property under false pretense and possession of stolen goods. 

Pamela Faye Williams, 56, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Sept. 6 on the first block of Goldmont Street and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive and resisting a public officer. 

Timothy Kyle Frazier, 37, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 7 on the first block of Forest Lane and charged with assault on a female.
