Aug. 29 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Shoplifting was reported on Aug. 15 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

A felony drug offense was reported on Aug. 15 on the 100 block of Patton Cove Road. 

Felony breaking or entering — with force was reported on Aug. 16 on the 100 block of Edwards Avenue. 

Drug violations and drug equipment violations were reported on Aug. 17 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Larceny was reported on Aug. 17 on the 400 block of Laurel Circle Drive. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction and drug violations were reported on Aug. 17 on the 100 block of Eastside Drive. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on Aug. 17 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 64. 

Driving under the influence and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance were reported on Aug. 17 on the 100 block of Sutton Avenue. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Aug. 17 on the 100 block of Franklin Road. 

Felony breaking or entering — no force was reported on Aug. 17 on the 100 block of Stone Drive. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on Aug. 18 on the 100 block of North Fork Road. 

Credit card fraud was reported on Aug. 19 on the 300 block of Portman Villa Road. 

Driving under the influence was reported on Aug. 19 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 65. 

Fraud was reported on Aug. 19 on the 100 block of Burgins Chapel Road. 

Drug violations were reported on Aug. 20 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 64. 

Harassing communications were reported on Aug. 20 on the 100 block of Nolan Field Lane. 

Larceny was reported on Aug. 20 on the 100 block of Alexander Place. 

Assault by pointing a gun and speeding to elude arrest was reported on Aug. 21 on the 600 block of West State Street. 

Intimidation was reported on Aug. 21 on the 100 block of Montreat Road. 

Drug violations were reported on Aug. 21 on Cragmont Road. 

Cyberstalking was reported on Aug. 21 on the 100 block of Huntington Drive. 

Arrests

Deborah Porter Buckner, 50, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 10 on the 2800 block of U.S. 70 and charged with resisting a public officer, being intoxicated and disruptive, assault on a government official and disorderly conduct. 

Jerry Alvin Jones, Jr., 38, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 10 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with assault on a female, being intoxicated and disruptive and battery of an unborn child. 

Jessica Lea Goggans, 38, of Fort Payne, Alabama, was arrested on Aug. 10 on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 65 and charged with driving while impaired, failure to maintain lane control, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and driving with an open container after first consuming alcohol.

Austin Dale Bright, 35, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Aug. 11 on the 100 block of Flat Creek Road and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of obtaining property under false pretense and misdemeanor larceny. 

Matthew Gordon Dehart, 40, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Aug. 11 on the first block of Cotton Creek Circle and charged with possession of methamphetamine and two counts of misdemeanor larceny. 

Brandon Shane Bailey, 35, of Old Fort, was arrested on Aug. 14 on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 64 and charged with driving while impaired, failure to comply with license restrictions and speeding. 

Thomas Scott Haynie, 37, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 15 on the 100 block of Patton Cove Road and charged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Austin Ray Smith, 29, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Aug. 15 on the 2100 block of U.S. 70 and charged with resisting a public officer.  

Chasity Danielle Lautner, 28, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 16 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70 and charged with simple assault. 

Jennifer Lynn Penley, 32, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 17 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Annette Marie Chrisman, 50, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Aug. 17 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with misdemeanor larceny. 

Kasey Susan Webb, 33, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Aug. 18 on the first block of Opal Lane and charged with injury to personal property. 

Ryan Fletcher Turbyfill, 40, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 19 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70 and charged with communicating threats, injury to personal property and resisting a public officer. 

Brian Dennis Wilson, 36, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 20 on the 200 block of Tabernacle Road and charged with possession of stolen property, common law robbery and abuse of an elder with injury. 

Natasha Sara Cole, 34, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Aug. 20 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of methamphetamine and being intoxicated and disruptive. 

Kedrick Tevon Green, 26, of Asheville, was arrested on Aug. 21 on the 100 block of West Buckeye Road and charged with possession of a stolen firearm.
