July 25 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
An animal bite was reported on July 12 on the first block of Buckwest Court.
Motor vehicle theft was reported on July 12 on the 100 block of West College Street.
Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on July 12 on the 300 block of Church Street.
Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and drug equipment violations were reported on July 12 on the 400 block of Kerlee Heights Road.
Drug violations were reported on July 13 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 62.
Driving while impaired was reported on July 13 at the intersection of Walker Street and Old U.S. 70.
Breaking or entering — no force was reported on July 13 on the 100 block of Alexander Place.
Larceny was reported on July 14 on the 200 block of Tabernacle Road.
Motor vehicle theft was reported on July 14 on the first block of Sigma Lane.
Drug equipment violations and a fictitious license plate were reported on July 14 at the intersection of Cragmont Road and U.S. 70.
Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on July 15 on U.S. 70.
Damage to property was reported on July 15 on the 100 block of Cherry Street.
Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on July 16 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 65.
Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on July 16 on WNC Shopping Center Drive.
Felony drug offense was reported on July 17 on the 100 block of Reese Drive.
Arrests
Sage Meadow Deboer, 24, of Black Mountain, was arrested on July 6 on the 3200 block of U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired and driving with an expired registration.
Dustin Wayne Whitson, 33, of Asheville, was arrested on July 6 on the 500 block of Padgettown Road and charged with possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; operating a motorcycle with no endorsement and failure to stop at a stop sign of flashing red light.
Rachel Margorie Solesby, 33, of Black Mountain, was arrested on July 7 on the 100 block of Cherry Street and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of assault resulting in physical injury to a law enforcement officer, two counts of resisting public officers, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Daniel James Chandler, 18, of Panama City Beach, Florida, was arrested on July 7 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 63 and charged with driving after consuming alcohol under the age of 21 and possession of alcohol under the age of 21.
Preston Black Lanning, 20, of Alexander, was arrested on July 12 on the 400 block of Kerlee Heights Road and charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer.
Michael Shane Reynolds, 43, of Swannanoa, was arrested on July 12 on the 600 block of Bee Tree Road and charged with driving while impaired and driving with an open container after consuming alcohol.
Kathleen Joan Mirkin, 67, of Black Mountain, was arrested on July 13 at the intersection of Walker Street and Old U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired.
Christopher Michael Fields, 45, of Swannanoa, was arrested on July 15 on the 100 block of Grovemont Avenue.
Arvon Perry Laughter III, 47, of Swannanoa, was arrested on July 17 on the 2000 block of North Fork Right Fork Road and charged with assault on a female.
Nathan Lamar Haynie, 35, of Asheville, was arrested on July 17 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with two counts of felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Britton Vaughn Robinson, 28, of Swannanoa, was arrested on July 17 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70 and charged with failure to work after being paid.
Jordan Lee Luna Cruz, 20, of Swannanoa, was arrested on July 18 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with assault on a female.
