Incidents
Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on July 4 on the 100 block of Rider Lane.
Larceny was reported on July 4 on the 100 block of Upper College Road.
Simple assault was reported on July 5 on the 100 block of Belle Street.
Drug equipment violations and warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported on July 5 on N.C. 9.
Felony drug offense was reported on July 5 on the 100 block of Whitson Avenue.
Felony drug offense was reported on July 5 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on July 5 on the 200 block of Wilson Cove Road.
Driving while intoxicated was reported on July 5 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70.
Drug equipment violations were reported on July 6 on the 100 block of Belle Street.
Driving under the influence, speeding, driving with an expired tag and driving with an open container were reported on July 6 on U.S. 70.
Drug violations were reported on July 6 at the intersection of Padgettown Road and Rainbow Terrace.
Driving under the influence, driving with an open container and speeding were reported on July 6 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 63.
An animal bite was reported on July 7 on the 100 block of Huntington Drive.
Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, assault on a government official inflicting injury, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and drug equipment violations were reported on July 7 on the 100 block of Cherry Street.
Warrant service for an offense committed in another jurisdiction was reported on July 7 on the 100 block of Eastside Drive.
Vandalism was reported on July 8 on the 100 block of Montreat Road.
Vandalism was reported on July 8 on the 400 block of East State Street.
Obtaining property under false pretense was reported on July 8 on the 100 block of Walkertown Road.
Motor vehicle theft was reported on July 9 on the 300 black of East State Street.
Felony breaking or entering — with force was reported on July 9 on the 2000 block of U.S. 70.
Felony breaking or entering — no force was reported on July 9 on the 100 block of Martin Road.
Fraud was reported on July 10 on the 100 block of Harrison Hill Road.
Larceny was reported on July 10 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Recovery of a stolen vehicle was reported on July 10 on the 200 block of Davis Drive.
Arrests
John Wesley Graves, 48, of Cheraw, S.C., was arrested on July 1 on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with assault on a female.
Brandy Danielle Ashburn, 37, of Cheraw, S.C., was arrested on July 1 on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with simple assault.
Mark Stanley Puett, 58, of Asheville, was arrested on July 3 on the 3200 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with two counts of possession of counterfeit instruments; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; two counts of felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and reckless driving to endanger.
Beatrice Lorraine Watkins, 48, of Marshall, was arrested on July 6 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired.
Willis Demeatric Workman, 46, of Asheville, was arrested on July 6 on the 2000 block of U.S. 70 and charged with assault on a female.
Timothy John Guinen, 27, of Swannanoa, was arrested on July 6 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of marijuana up to half an ounce and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
Spencer Joseph Harris, 36, of Asheville, was arrested on July 8 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with felony probation violation.
Tommy Lee Nanney, 59, of Black Mountain, was arrested on July 10 on the 400 block of Shumont Road and charged with breaking or entering.
Nathaniel Paul Haney, 43, of Asheville, was arrested on July 11 on the 100 block of Davidson Road and charged with felony probation violation and felony probation violation out of county.
