June 27 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on June 10 on the 500 block of N.C. 9.

Embezzlement was reported on June 14 on the 200 block of Black Mountain Avenue. 

Two warrant services for offenses committed in another jurisdiction and possession of a methamphetamine were reported on June 14 on the U.S. 70 East. 

Drug violations and motor vehicle theft were reported on June 14 on the first block of Goldmont Street. 

Felony breaking or entering was reported on June 14 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70. 

Larceny  from a motor vehicle was reported on June 14 on the 100 block of Lake Eden Road. 

Felony drug offense was reported on June 14 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70. 

Larceny was reported on June 15 on the 100 block of Dogwood Lane. 

Driving under the influence, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, failure to maintain a lane and an open container in the passenger area of a vehicle were reported on June 15 at the intersection of Tomahawk Avenue and Poplar Street. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdictions was reported on June 15 on the first block of Alpine Shadow Lane. 

Larceny was reported on June 15 on the 100 block of Yow Drive.

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on June 15 on the 700 block of Warren Wilson Road. 

Drug violations were reported on June 16 at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Grove Stone Road. 

Breaking and entering was reported on June 16 on the 200 block of Ruby Avenue. 

Shoplifting and all other offenses were reported on June 16 on the 3000 block of U.S. 70. 

Credit card fraud and misdemeanor larceny were reported on June 17 on the 800 block of Montreat Road. 

Driving under the influence, driving with license revoked, driving without insurance, driving with a revoke tag and child abuse (non-abusive) were reported on June 17 on the 3000 block of U.S. 70. 

An animal bite was reported on June 17 on the 100 block of Whitson Avenue.

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on June 18 on the 100 block of Flat Creek Road. 

Shoplifting was reported on June 18 on the 100 block of Broadway Avenue. 

Arrests

David Clarence Boyd, 43, of Black Mountain, was arrested on June 9 on the first block of Goldmont Street and charged with two counts of assault resulting in physical injury.

Fred Andrew Banks III, 44, of Marion, was arrested on June 10 on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with possession of stolen goods, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

Bobby Dean King Jr., 36, of Marion, was arrested on June 14 on U.S. 70 East and charged with resisting public officers.  

Richard Wayne Braswell Jr., 36, of Black Mountain, was arrested on June 14 on the first block of Goldmont Street and charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule IV controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

April Elizabeth Covan, 40, of Black Mountain, was arrested on June 14 on the first block of Goldmont Street and charged with misdemeanor larceny, failure to appear in court and resisting a public officer.

Brendan Lee Bugg, 36, of Marion, was arrested on June 14 on the first block of Hemphill Road and charged with resisting a public officer, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and larceny. 

Amye Marie Bryant, 35, of Burnsville, was arrested on June 14 on the first block of Goldmont Street and chraged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Gregory Joseph Erway, 30, of Swannanoa, was arrested on June 14 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Henry Clifton Hensley, 62, of Asheville, was arrested on June 14 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Klorissa Nicole Parton, 29, of Swannanoa, was arrested on June 19 on the first block of Old Patton Cove Road and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. 

Patricia Lynn McMahan, 54, of Black Mountain, was arrested on June 20 on the 2400 block of U.S. 70 and charged with misdemeanor larceny, simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
