June 20 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Identity theft was reported on June 6 on the 200 block of Flat Creek Road. 

Drug violations and warrant services for offenses committed in other jurisdictions were reported on June 6 on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 65. 

Warrant services for offenses committed in other jurisdictions were reported on June 6 on N.C. 9. 

Driving under the influence was reported on June 6 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

An animal bite was reported on June 6 on the 100 block of Old Jims Branch Road. 

Embezzlement was reported on June 6 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70. 

Two counts of motor vehicle theft were reported on June 7 on the 200 block of Davis Drive. 

Larceny was reported on June 8 on the 100 block of Monk Court.

Assault on a government official, resisting an officer and warrant service for offenses committed in other jurisdictions were reported on June 9 at the intersection of Goldmont and Ash Street. 

Two counts of stolen property offenses and drug equipment violations were reported on June 10 on the 600 block of West State Street. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on June 10 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on June 10 on the 700 block of Warren Wilson Road. 

Arrests 

Jakime Raheim Whiteside, 25, of Lenoir, was arrested on June 1 on West State Street and charged with felony larceny, interfering with an electronic monitoring device, possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer. 

Kristy Rae Wilson, 26, of Asheville, was arrested on June 1 on West State Street and charged with resisting a public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of selling or delivering a Schedule II controlled substance, trafficking opium or heroin, selling or delivering a Schedule VI controlled substance, providing fictitious information to an officer, reckless driving to endanger, failure to stop for a stop sign or flashing red light and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II controlled substance. 

Steve Lee Walden Menius, 26, of Asheville, was arrested on June 2 on the first block of Shumate Road and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana up to half an ounce. 

Dearcey Malik Jones, 25, of Marion, was arrested on June 2 on the first block of Vance Avenue and charged with violating a protective order, 

Michael Dean Ogle, 27, of Black Mountain, was arrested on June 3 on the 100 block of Montreat Road and charged with receiving stolen goods. 

Nikalus Cain Hare, 20, of Fletcher, was arrested on June 6 on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 65 and charged with simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and resisting a public officer. 

Zachary Noel Hare, 25, of Marion, was arrested on June 6 on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 65 and charged with simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance. 

Kelilyn Marie Miles, 35, of Black Mountain, was arrested on June 7 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with driving while impaired. 

Austin Ray Smith, 29, of Swannanoa, was arrested on June 8 on the 1200 block of Bee Tree Road and charged with resisting a public officer.

Tamela Prater Seay, 57, of Swannanoa, was arrested on June 11 on the 100 block of Jordan Road and charged with obtaining property under false pretense.
