May 30 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Felony breaking or entering—no force was reported on May 16 on the 300 block of Lake Eden Road. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on May 16 on the 500 block of Padgettown Road. 

Simple assault on a female was reported on May 16 on the 100 block of Cherry Street. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on May 16 on the 100 block of Rainbow Lane.

Destruction of property was reported on May 17 on the first block of Jubilee Circle. 

Narcotic violations were reported on May 17 at the intersection of Access Road and Blue Ridge Road .

Larceny was reported on May 17 on the 100 block of Grey Rock Valley. 

Motor vehicle theft was reported on May 18 on the 100 block of Dogwood Lane. 

Destruction of property was reported on May 18 on the 100 block of Dogwood Lane. 

Destruction of property was reported on May 19 on the 100 block of West College Street.

Driving under the influence, reckless driving and failure to reduce speed were reported on May 19 on Tomahawk Avenue. 

Larceny was reported on May 21 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70 .

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on May 22 on the first block of Walker Cove Road. 

Larceny by an employee was reported on May 22 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Arrests 

Markeisha Tachelle Johnson, 26, of Black Mountain, was arrested on May 11 on the 200 block of Cragmont Road and charged with assault and battery. 

Erica Leigh Gibson, 25, of Swannanoa, was arrested on May 11 on the I-40 westbound on-ramp at mile marker 64 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; resisting public officers and possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. 

Michael Dean Ogle, 27, of Black Mountain, was arrested on May 11 on  the I-40 westbound on-ramp at mile marker 64 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; operating a vehicle without a license and driving a motor vehicle without registration. 

Machelle Lane, 50, of Black Mountain, was arrested on May 11 on the 200 block of Cragmont Road and charged with assault and battery. 

Dale Austin Bright, 34, of Swannanoa, was arrested on May 14 on the 100 block of Sutton Avenue and charged with possession of methamphetamine. 

Andrew Kyne Daugherty, 29, of Spring Valley, Ohio, was arrested on May 14 on the 200 block of Old Lakey Gap Road and charged with breaking or entering. 

Andre Tremaine Montgomery, 37, of Black Mountain, was arrested on May 14 on the 100 block of Sutton Avenue and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of stolen goods.
