May 16 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Felony breaking or entering—no force was reported on May 2 on the 100 block of Candlelight Drive.

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on May 2 on the 700 block of Rhododendron Avenue. 

Theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories was reported on May 2 on the 300 block of Black Mountain Avenue. 

Felony drug offense was reported on May 2 on the 100 block of North Avenue. 

Assault inflicting serious injury was reported on May 2 on the first block of Myrtle Road. 

Discharging a firearm into occupied property was reported on May 2 on the 100 block of Candlelight Drive. 

Simple assault and drug equipment violations were reported on May 2 on the 500 block of Lakey Gap Road. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on May 3 on the 1500 block of Grove Stone Road. 

Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and an open container were reported on May 3 on Honeycutt Street. 

Fleeing to elude and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance were reported on May 3 on North Blue Ridge Road. 

Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, drug equipment violations and driving with license revoked were reported on May 3 on I-40 and N.C. 9. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on May 3 on the 100 block of Old Stage Coach Road. 

Narcotics violations were reported on May 5 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 63. 

Driving with license revoked and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance were reported on May 6 on Lake Eden Road. 

Larceny was reported on May 6 on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70. 

Drug violations and drug equipment violations were reported on May 8 on the U.S. 70. 

Fraud was reported on May 9 on the first block of Outlook Circle. 

Arrests

Joshua Keith Clark, 43, of Fairview, was arrested on April 27 at the intersection of West State Street and Church Street and charged with aiding and abetting an impaired driver, possession of an open container of alcohol in the passenger area of the vehicle and being intoxicated and disruptive. 

Christina Kistler Perkins, 40, of Fairview, was arrested on April 27 at the intersection of West State Street and Church Street and charged with driving while impaired and possession of an open container of alcohol in the passenger area of the vehicle.

Anna Mary Schaefer, 38, of Black Mountain, was arrested on May 1 on I-40 eastbound and N.C. 9 and charged with misdemeanor larceny. 

Haley Sierra Destiny Jordan, 19, of Asheville, was arrested on May 1 on I-40 eastbound and N.C. 9 and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. 

Jacob Levi Rathbone, 22, of Black Mountain, was arrested on May 1 on the 100 block of Bell Street and charged with assault on a female. 

Sharon Annette Miller, 60, of Asheville, was arrested on May 1 on I-40 westbound and N.C. 9 and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Jonathan Robert Boyd, 28, of Leicester, was arrested on May 1 on I-40 eastbound and N.C. 9 and charged with shoplifting. 

Tyler James Leeb, 19, of Old Fort, was arrested on May 2 and charged with assault on a female. 

Trena Diane Weaver, 27, of Marshall, was arrested on May 4 on on I-40, at exit 64, and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Andrew Jay Wagoner, 34, of Candler, was arrested on May 4 on I-40, at exit 64, and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Avron Perry Laughter III, 47, of Swannanoa, was arrested on May 2 on Woolwine Drive and charged with second degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation and assault on a female. 

James Robert Saunders, 24, of Asheville, was arrested on May 4 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with interfering with an electronic monitoring device.
