May 9 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Warrant service for offense in another jurisdiction was reported on April 25 on the 3000 block of U.S. 70. 

Warrant service for offense in another jurisdictions was reported on April 25 on I-40 westbound. 

Larceny of a tag was reported on April 26 on the 100 block of Richardson Boulevard.

Driving under the influence and speeding were reported on April 26 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 63. 

Driving under the influence and driving with license revoked were reported on April 26 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Driving under the influence was reported on April 27 on U.S. 70. 

Warrant service for offense in another jurisdiction was reported on April 27 on the 400 block of East State Street. 

Driving under the influence, possession of an open container, aiding and abetting a misdemeanor and drunkenness were reported on April 27 on North Dougherty Street. 

Larceny was reported on April 27 on the 100 block of Jordan Road. 

Felony breaking or entering—with force was reported on April 27 on the 100 block of Springdale Road. 

Felony larceny was reported on April 29 on the 400 block of East State Street. 

Destruction of property was reported on April 30 on the 300 block of West State Street. 

Drug violations, drug equipment violations and warrant service for offense in another jurisdiction were reported on May 1 I-40 westbound at mile marker 64. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on May 1 on the 100 block of Taylor Street. 

Simple assault was reported on May 1 on the 100 block of Bell Street. 

Counterfeiting was reported on May 1 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Shoplifting and concealment of goods were reported on May 1 on the 500 block of N.C. 9.

Misdemeanor breaking and entering—no force was reported on May 1 on the 100 block of Harrison Street. 

Larceny was reported on May 1 on the 100 block of Old Buckeye Cove Road. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on May 2 on the 700 block of Rhododendron Avenue.

Arrests 

Jimmy Allison Edgins, 63, of Morganton, was arrested on April 21 on the 100 block of East State Street and charged with driving while impaired and driving with an open container after consuming alcohol.

Kyle Jordan Ledford, 26, of Burnsville, was arrested on April 22 on the 900 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Crystal Elise Phillips, 52, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 22 on the first block of Peridot Point and charged with misdemeanor larceny. 

Christopher Robin McDonald, 41, of Swannanoa, was arrested on April 25 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with misdemeanor probation violation. 

Douglas Bruce Dewberry, Jr., 34, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 26 on the first block of Riverwood Road and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. 

Haley Brigitte Catolster, 22, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 27 at the intersection of Cragmont Road and U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired. 

Cameron Leigh Greene, 21, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 27 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with driving while impaired and driving with license revoked—not impaired. 

Michael Scott Harvey, 18, Arden, was arrested on on April 27 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 63 and charged with driving after consuming alcohol. 

Shawn Austin, 50, of Swannanoa, was arrested on May 1 on the 500 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive.
