April 25 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.
An animal bite was reported April 11 on the 100 block of East Top Drive in Swannanoa.
A breaking and entering of a residence was reported April 12 on the 100 block of O’Neil Circle in Swannanoa.
An assault inflicting serious injury was reported April 13 on the 100 block of Park Ridge Avenue in Swannanoa.
A breaking an entering of a residence was reported April 16 on the 300 block of Lakey Gap Acres in Black Mountain.
Christopher Jaylon Burgin, 20, of Black Mountain, was arrested April 11 on the 100 block of Grovemont Avenue in Swannanoa on an outstanding warrant from late March. He is charged with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury.
Daniel Ray Thompson, 47, of Swannanoa, was arrested April 12 on the 100 block of Riverwood Road in Swannanoa on two outstanding warrants. He was charged in late February with misdemeanor nonsupport and in early April with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Thomas Joseph Flemin, 32, of Asheville, was arrested April 13 on Lower Sand Branch Road in Black Mountain. He was arrested on several outstanding warrants including possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol on unauthorized premise and probation violation — all misdemeanors. He was charged with misdemeanor resisting public officer on the day he was arrested.
Julie Ann Russell, 50, of Black Mountain, was arrested April 14 on the 200 block of Old Toll Circle in Black Mountain and charged with misdemeanor simple assault.
Kevin Michael Hart, 46, of Swannanoa, was arrested April 15 on the 2300 block of US 70 in Swannanoa on several outstanding warrants, including five felony drug counts and four misdemeanor drug counts.
Robert Edward Kitchens, 49, of Swannanoa, was arrested April 16 on Candlelight Drive in Swannanoa on an outstanding warrant of violation of a domestic violence protective order.
Nicole Michelle Taylor, 38, of Candler, was arrested April 17 on the 2000 block of US 70 in Swannanoa on several outstanding warrants, including five counts of felony probation violation and one misdemeanor count of child abuse.
Joshua Alan Byrd, 36, of Newton, was arrested April 17 on the 2000 block of US 70 and charged with resisting a public officer, a misdemeanor.
