The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Felony breaking or entering—with force was reported on April 4, on the 200 block of Brim Lane.

Felony breaking or entering—with force was reported on April 4, on the 2000 block of U.S. 70. 

Burglary was reported on April 4, on the first block of Shumate Road. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on April 4, on the 3400 block of U.S. 70. 

Simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia were reported on April 5, on Veterans Park Drive. 

Possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, drug equipment violations, driving with license revoked and warrant service for an offense in another jurisdiction were reported on April 6, on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Driving while impaired was reported on April 6, on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.

Simple assault was reported on April 7, on the first block of Alpine Shadow Lane. 

Burglary and vandalism of property were reported on April 7, on the 3100 block of U.S. 70. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on April 7, on the 100 block of College View Drive. 

Assault on a female was reported on April 8, on the first block of Vance Avenue. 

Traffic offenses were reported on April 8, on the 1900 block of U.S. 70.

Simple assault was reported on April 9, on the 2300 block of U.S. 70. 

Arrests 

Patrick Lawrence McCray, 39, of Asheville, was arrested on April 2, at the intersection of Old U.S. 70 and Grove Stone Road and charged with driving while impaired, speeding and driving with an open container after consuming alcohol.

Bill Sean McFalls, 51, of Asheville, was arrested on April 2, on the 600 block of West State Street and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Kevin Shane Parham, 46, of Black Mountain, was arrested on April 4, on the first block of Dunsmore Avenue and charged with violating a protective order. 

John Emory Efird, 39, of Candler, was arrested on April 5, at the intersection of Watson Road and U.S. 70 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance. 

Soeun Son, 32, of Swannanoa, was arrested on April 6, on the 2300 block of Old U.S. 70 and charged with driving while impaired.
