Feb. 21 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Burglary was reported on Feb. 7, on the 600 block of West State Street.
Stolen property offenses, fictitious tag, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and drug equipment violations were reported on Feb. 8, on the 600 block of U.S. 70.
Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on Feb. 8, on the first block of Alpine Shadow Lane.
Burglary was reported on Feb. 9, on the 400 block of Laurel Circle Drive.
Eluding felony arrest was reported on Feb. 9, on the 400 block of Old U.S. 70.
Simple assault was reported on Feb. 9, on the 1300 block of Bee Tree Road.
Possession of a stolen vehicle was reported on Feb. 9, on the 100 block of Berkie Lane.
An animal bite was reported on Feb. 9, on the 100 block of Scenic View Drive.
Felony drug offense and traffic offenses were reported on Feb. 9, on the 300 block of Old Buckeye Cove Road.
Larceny was reported on Feb. 10, on the 500 block of N.C. 9.
Larceny was reported on Feb. 10, on the 700 block of Warren Wilson Road.
Damage to personal property was reported on Feb. 11, on the 100 block of North Ridgeway Avenue.
Larceny of a license plate was reported on Feb. 11, on the 100 block of Pearson Lane.
Driving under the influence, failure to decrease speed to avoid colliding with a vehicle, open container of alcohol in the passenger area and failure to use seat belt while in forward motion.
Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported on Feb. 12, on the 2000 block of U.S. 70.
Larceny was reported on Feb. 13, on the 100 block of Rockdale Avenue.
Larceny was reported on Feb. 13, on the 100 block of Weston Drive.
Felony drug offense was reported on Feb. 14, on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Arrests
Tammy Elizabeth McElrath, 36, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Feb. 2, at the intersection of Honeycutt Street and Montreat Road and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tyson Emrys Neal Pike, 32, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Feb. 4, on the 200 block of Tabernacle Road and charged with being intoxicated and disruptive and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.
Brannan Stephen Nitchman, 27, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Feb. 7, on the 100 block of Alexander Avenue and charged with resisting a public officer.
Kaaleem Oday Bryson, 29, of Asheville, was arrested on Feb. 8, on the 100 block of Carver Avenue and charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury.
Gary Fred Collins, Jr., 36, of Marion, was arrested on Feb. 8, on the 600 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession of marijuana up to half an ounce, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of stolen goods and having a fictitious or altered tag or registration.
Andrew Ernest MacBean, 32, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Feb. 10, on the 2500 block of Old Fort Road on an out-of-state fugitive warrant.
Ethan Wallace Brock, 19, of Asheville, was arrested on Feb. 14, on the 2300 block of U.S. 70 and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule I controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance.
