Jan. 31 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Jan. 7, on the 100 block of Locust Street.
Kidnapping, simple assault and larceny of a motor vehicle were reported on Jan. 7, on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Animal neglect was reported on Jan. 9, on the 200 block of Chestnut Hill Road.
Felony breaking or entering — with force was reported on Jan. 10, on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Jan. 11, on the first block of Bridgestone Road.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Jan. 13, on the 200 block of Melody Circle.
Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Jan. 13, on the 200 block of Melody Circle.
Felony breaking or entering — with force was reported on Jan. 14, on the 2100 block of U.S. 70.
A dangerous dog was reported on Jan. 15, on the 100 block of Vance Drive.
Larceny of a tag was reported on Jan. 16, on the 100 block of Alan Campos Circle.
Destruction of property was reported on Jan. 18, on the 3100 block of U.S. 70.
Possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia were reported on Jan. 18, on the first block of Cement Road.
Fraud was reported on Jan. 18, on the 100 block of Twin Laurel Branch.
Possession of a less than half an ounce of marijuana was reported on Jan. 20, at the intersection of State Street and Richardson Boulevard.
Felony breaking or entering — no force was reported on Jan. 20, on the 3000 block of N.C. 9.
Burglary was reported on Jan. 20, on the 200 block of Black Mountain Avenue.
Driving under the influence was reported on Jan. 20, on Blue Ridge Road.
Simple assault was reported on Jan. 22, on the 200 block of Avena Road.
Identity theft and obtaining property by false pretense were reported on Jan. 22, on the 400 block of Chapel Road.
Arrests
Matthew Lee Darrhon, 34, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Jan. 9, on the first block of No Name Road and charged with assault on a female, assault on a government official and resisting a public officer.
Joshua Edward Landis, 36, of Brevard, was arrested on Jan. 11, on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 58 and charged with speeding, aggressive driving, driving while impaired, driving without an operator's license, injury to personal property and felony fleeing or eluding arrest.
Perry Lynn Davis, 37, of Candler, was arrested on Jan. 11, on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 58 and charged with resisting public officers.
Denise Nicole Williams, 27, of Asheville, was arrested on Jan. 13, at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and State Street and charged with reckless driving to endanger, driving with license revoked — not impaired, having a fictitious tag or registration card and resisting public officers.
Howard Craig Shearer, 60, of Leicester, was arrested on Jan. 13, on the 2500 block of U.S. 70 and charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
Robert McCoy Bradley, Jr., 61, of Nebo, was arrested on Jan. 17, on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged what carrying a concealed weapon; possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance; driving while impaired; two counts of trafficking methamphetamine; felony possession of Schedule VI controlled substance; maintaining vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance
Derrick Cecil White, 32, of Asheville, was arrested on Jan. 17, at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Craigmont Road and charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.
