Blue Ridge Road interchange meeting Dec. 13

An informal meeting regarding the future interchange at I-40 and Blue Ridge Road, will be hosted by the N.C. Department of Transportation from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13 in the Lakeview Center at Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain.

A public meeting, hosted by the N.C. Department of Transportation on Dec. 13 at the Lakeview Center, will allow community members to give input on the planned interchange at I-40 and Blue Ridge Road.

The open-house style meeting will feature information on State Transportation Improvement Plan project number I-4409, which will also result in substantial changes to Blue Ridge Road. 

NCDOT officials will share a proposal that includes widening Blue Ridge Road north to U.S. 70 and the construction of a roundabout where Blue Ridge Road and N.C. 9 intersect. Those who attend the meeting will have the opportunity to share comments and ask questions. 

The event will not include a formal presentation, but maps will be available for review.
