The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on Oct. 18 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Larceny of prescription medication was reported on Oct. 18 on the 100 block of Oaken Hill Place.

Larceny was reported on Oct. 18 on the 100 block of Greenbriar Road. 

Driving with license revoked, driving with a fictitious tag and driving with no insurance were reported on Oct. 19 on N.C. 9. 

Felony breaking or entering was reported on Oct. 20 on the 100 block of Tessie Lane. 

Driving while impaired was reported on Oct. 20 on the 2000 block of U.S. 70. 

Driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident were reported on Oct. 21 on the 100 block of Mountain Street. 

An animal bite was reported on Oct. 22 on the 200 on the block of Whitson Avenue. 

Purse snatching was reported on Oct. 22 on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70 East. 

Driving while license revoked and aiding and abetting driving while license revoked were reported on Oct. 22 on U.S. 70. 

Damage to real property was reported on Oct. 22 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70. 

Larceny was reported on Oct. 22 on the 100 block of North Dougherty Street. 

Possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance; simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance; felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia and weapon law violations were reported on Oct. 23. 

Drug equipment violations, larceny and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance were reported on Oct. 24 on the 100 block of Flat Creek Road. 

Drug violations; larceny, resisting, delaying or obstructing officers were reported on Oct. 24 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Arrests

Patricia Lynn McMahan, 53, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Oct. 17 on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with second degree trespassing and shoplifting. 

Robert Tyler Smith, 27, of Fairview, was arrested on Oct. 18 on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and having a fictitious or altered registration card or tag.

Gerardo Everardo Cerna, 20, of Sylva, was arrested on Oct. 19 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 62 and charged with trafficking opium or heroin; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Jesus Eduardo Diez, 30, of Cullowhee, was arrested on Oct. 19 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 62 and charged with maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance; possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute heroin; trafficking opium or heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Henry Norman Ward II, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Oct. 22 and charged with the 2100 block of U.S. 70 and charged with first degree trespassing. 

Joshua Russell Ogle, 33, of Asheville, was arrested on the first block of Wilson Avenue on Oct. 24 and charged with assault and batter and resisting a public officer.
