The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Felony breaking or entering - no force was reported on Sept. 27 on the 100 block of Edwards Avenue. 

Motor vehicle theft was reported on Sept. 28 on the 100 block of Lions Way. 

Felony breaking or entering - with force was reported on Sept. 28 on the 2400 block of U.S. 70. 

Driving under the influence and careless driving were reported on Sept. 29 near the intersection of U.S. 70 and Blue Ridge Road.  

Felony breaking or entering - with force was reported on Sept. 29 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70. 

Theft from a building was reported on Sept. 29 on the 300 block of West State Street. 

Destruction or vandalism of property was reported on Sept. 30 on the first block of Cotton Creek Circle. 

Simple assault was reported on Oct. 2 on the 100 block of Second Street. 

Credit or ATM card fraud was reported on Oct. 2 on the 200 block of Davis Drive. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Oct. 2 on the 200 block of Rattlesnake Mountain Road. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported on Oct. 2 on the 200 block of Rattlesnake Mountain Road. 

Driving with license revoke and driving with no insurance were reported on Oct. 3 on N.C. 9. 

Destruction or vandalism of property was reported on Oct. 3 on the 500 block of Lakey Gap Road. 

Possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance was reported on Oct. 3 on Penelope Street. 

Driving with license revoked was reported on Oct. 4 on U.S. 70. 

Arrests 

Thomas Mark Richard Hughey, 21, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 22 on I-40 westbound at mile marker 63 and charged with assault on a female. 

Michelle Leigh Martin, 23, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Sept. 23 on the 100 block of West State Street and charged with driving while impaired and failure to stop at a steady red light. 

Matthew James Sehion, 30, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Sept. 23 on the 100 block of Taylor Street and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. 

Christina Faye Laughter, 45, of Candler, was arrested on Sept. 24 on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. 

William Ray Willis, Jr., 46, of Candler, was arrested on Sept. 24 on the 500 block of N.C. 9 and charged with resisting public officers, driving with license revoked - not impaired and driving with an expired registration card or tag.
