Sept. 27 Swannanoa Valley crime and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Driving while license revoked and failure to stop at a stop sign were reported on Sept. 13 on Cragmont Road. 

Domestic assault on a female, drug equipment violations, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, distribute or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on Sept. 13 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Possession of drug paraphernalia was reported on Sept. 13 on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70. 

Fraud was reported on Sept. 13 on the 1900 block of U.S. 70. 

Larceny of a dog was reported on Sept. 14 on the 200 block of Flat Creek Road. 

Simple assault was reported on Sept. 14 on the 200 block of Rainbow Terrace. 

An animal bite was reported on Sept. 14 on the 2500 block of N.C. 9. 

Felony breaking or entering - no force was reported on the Sept. 14 on the 100 block of Warren Wilson Road. 

Simple assault was reported on Sept. 15 on the 200 block of Davis Drive. 

Larceny was reported on Sept. 15 on the 600 block of Christian Creek Road.

Credit card fraud was reported on Sept. 15 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.

Two counts of simple assault were reported on Sept. 17 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Larceny was reported on Sept. 17 on the 100 block of Mockingbird Road. 

Simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were reported on Sept. 18 at the intersection of Cragmont Road and Tomahawk Avenue. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on Sept. 18 on the 100 block of Old Lakey Gap Road. 

Simple assault was reported on Sept. 18 on the first block of Kitzies Court. 

Assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, drug equipment violations, driving with license revoked, a fictitious tag, an altered tag, failure to stop for a stop sign and possession of stolen property were reported on Sept. 18 on Craggy Street. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on Sept. 19 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Shoplifting and drug violations were reported on Sept. 19 on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70. 

Shoplifting was reported on Sept. 19 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Forgery was reported on Sept. 19 on the 100 block of Northwest Avenue. 

Crime

Arrests

Jessica Lynn Carter, 29, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 11 on South Ridge Avenue and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Randall William Taylor, 30, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 12 on the 900 block of Montreat Road and charged with kidnapping, assault by strangulation and assault on a female. 

Dawn Marie Barton, 32, of Hendersonville, was arrested on Sept. 13 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Christopher Thomas Pressley, 31, of Horseshoe, was arrested on Sept. 13 on the 200 block of N.C. 9 and charged with assault on a female and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

James Allen Stepler, 61, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Sept. 14 and charged with simple assault.
