Sept. 13 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.
Incidents
Kidnapping was reported on Aug. 30 on the 100 block of Opal Lane.
A felony drug offense was reported on Aug. 31 on the 2300 block of U.S. 70.
Larceny of a tag was reported on Aug. 31 on the 100 block of Lake Eden Circle.
Damage to personal property was reported on Sept. 1 on the 2200 block of U.S. 70.
Driving while impaired was reported on Sept. 1 on the 100 block of Old U.S. 70.
A drug violation and drug equipment violation were reported on Sept. 1 on the 400 block of West State Street.
A felony drug offense was reported on Sept. 2 on the 100 block of Happy Lane.
An animal bite was reported on Sept. 2 on the 100 block of Highland Drive.
Misdemeanor breaking or entering - no force was reported on Sept. 3 on the 100 block of Lake Eden Road.
An animal bite was reported on Sept. 3 on the 100 block of Bryant Road.
A misdemeanor drug offense was reported on Sept. 5 on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70.
Destruction of property was reported on Sept. 5 on the 100 block of Richardson Boulevard.
Arrests
Sean Son, 36, of Swannanoa, was arrested on Aug. 29 at mile marker 64 on I-40 westbound and charged with simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.
William Matthew Dalton, 26, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Aug. 30 at the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Cragmont Road and charged with possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a marijuana paraphernalia.
Jeffrey Daniel Newsome, 44, of Black Mountain, was arrested on Aug. 30 at the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Cragmont Road and charged with possession with intent to sell, manufacture or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
