Aug. 2 Swannanoa Valley crimes and arrests

The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Larceny was reported on July 19 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported on July 19 on the 700 block of Holly Avenue. 

Intoxicated and disruptive person was reported on July 21 on the 200 block of N.C. 9.

Counterfeiting was reported on July 22 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Destruction of property was reported on July 22 on the first block of Brooks Cove Road.  

Theft from a building was reported on July 22 on the 100 block of Taylor Street. 

A felony drug offense was reported on July 22 on the 100 block of Whitson Avenue. 

Damage to personal property was reported on July 23 on the 200 block of Old U.S. 70. 

Felony larceny was reported on July 23 on the 100 block of Eastside Drive. 

Possible rabies exposure was reported on July 23 on the 100 block of Balsam Road. 

Fraud was reported on July 24 on the 100 block of Spankey Road. 

Crime

Arrests 

Misty Dawn Curry, 25, of Black Mountain, was arrested on July 15 on the first block of Kappa Loop and charged with second degree trespassing and assault and battery. 

Joseph Cecil Vandevere, Jr., 51, of Black Mountain, was arrested on July 18 on the 300 block of Genesis Circle and charged with simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. 

Jesse Alan Chester, 44, of Marion, was arrested on July 18 at the intersection of Hutchins Road and Tabernacle Road and charged with driving with license revoked and resisting a public officer.
